Hamell not only records music, performs live, does independent writing, he also paints. All of the images below, and many you see as the accompanying artwork on the digital releases, are Hamell paintings. These vary in size and price, but are all acrylic on canvas. Hamell paints scenes inspired by the 'underground' and 'disenfranchised' of our society. Ed uses bold and bright colors in his paintings which contrast the darker subject matter, championing the underclass, drawing you into the characters he depicts, endearing you to them and sparking emotions one might not anticipate.Hamell is also available for specific painting commissions. about
This is one of two songs, the other being New World, that either shouldn't be on this record or should have been seriously reworked. Most of my subsequent albums had the benefit of being taken out on the road and seriously worked, played and crafted, some, (many) discarded, and then recorded and shown the light of day after serious reworkings...this album with the exception of Lennon, The Meeting, The Vines, didn't have the 'roadtesting' opportunity. Not everybody works this way, and God Bless 'em, but it's been proven that it's best if i do.
lyrics
Give him the stall, make him keep talking, is he still there? Come to the phone! Mark don't go...
I hear you voice, how come you're hearing...talked to your wife, she hid your keys, please, Mark don't go....
Get, get, getting low
It's been a long night, why don't we hold tight, give me a minute and I'll be there....Lets let the morning judge, I think you shouldn't budge, Give me a minute and I'll be there...
I know whats out there in the glove box, turn down Roseanne what did you say? Hey...
Mark don't go....
Hamell on Trial is loud, fast music informed by politics, intelligence and a wicked sense of humor.

I love the Jordan Lake Sessions albums, they're so ALIVE! I'm excited to listen to these versions of my favorite songs forever and ever, and always max out my Mazda's speakers on the sax parts. grenadinegrace
