  • Hamell not only records music, performs live, does independent writing, he also paints. All of the images below, and many you see as the accompanying artwork on the digital releases, are Hamell paintings. These vary in size and price, but are all acrylic on canvas. Hamell paints scenes inspired by the 'underground' and 'disenfranchised' of our society. Ed uses bold and bright colors in his paintings which contrast the darker subject matter, championing the underclass, drawing you into the characters he depicts, endearing you to them and sparking emotions one might not anticipate.Hamell is also available for specific painting commissions. about

It certainly seems superfluous to add yet MORE words to this lengthy piece but I'm really proud of it, and despite the fact that it's a huge bitch fest vent rally, I somehow feel the need to explain yet further.

I had this friend. I know we all romanticize the dead and if any of you have ever had a loved one that's a desperate alcoholic or a junkie then you know how tragic it can be. There isn't anything appealing about it. This friend lied, and he stole and he wrecked a lot of things that he came in contact with but good Lord he was an incredible son of a bitch. I really loved the man. We did some amazing shit together. And for all everybody was saying back then, "Oh it's going to turn out bad, you shouldn't be doing this, God wouldn't like it, the police are gonna get you, someday you'll see, blah blah blah be fucking blah", well these same people, if their pictures and posts on Facebook are any indication, THAT WAS THE GREATEST TIME IN THEIR FUCKING LIVES. Yes, he died. He was 37. But he wouldn't have been good as an old man. It would have been ugly.

So a great part of this stuff is true, like most of my stuff. But I wouldn't have had it any other way. So fucking there.
